Product Details
New-energy commercial vehicles, such as new-energy buses and coaches, primarily rely on high-voltage electricity for power. Without the residual heat from traditional vehicle engines, the cabin’s heating needs must now be met entirely through the conversion of high-voltage electricity. The PTC liquid electric heater serves as the key device that supplies thermal energy to meet the vehicle’s overall heating demands. It converts high-voltage electricity into heat, which is then transferred to a suitable medium via a heat exchanger. This medium carries the thermal energy to the areas of the vehicle that require it, enabling efficient management of the vehicle’s thermal resources.
EW20 PTC electric heater focuses on the core technology of PTC electric heating, making it ideal for new-energy electric vehicles with larger heating spaces, such as new-energy buses and coaches. It can also be seamlessly integrated into diversified battery thermal management systems, including energy storage and hydrogen fuel cell applications.
The EW20 PTC electric heater features high-voltage electric liquid heating technology, precisely meeting the efficient heating and battery pack thermal management needs in the larger spaces typical of new-energy commercial vehicles. It provides a stable and reliable PTC pure-electric heating solution for battery thermal management in areas such as new-energy vehicles, energy storage, and hydrogen fuel cells.

PTC Electric Heater Operating Principle ▶
The EW20 PTC electric heater operates by using a controller to regulate the amount of heat generated by the PTC element. This heat is then transferred to the antifreeze fluid via a heat exchanger, ultimately raising the fluid's temperature.
The PTC core of the EW20 PTC electric heater is a positive temperature coefficient resistor that generates heat when energized. Once the temperature reaches the Curie point (a stable temperature achieved when voltage is applied to the PTC), it remains constant—providing both safety and reliability. The PTC core is arranged in a cross configuration with the water channels of the heat exchanger, allowing the heat generated by the PTC core to be efficiently transferred via these channels to the internal antifreeze fluid, thereby raising the fluid's temperature.
The controller of the EW20 PTC electric heater primarily regulates the power output of the PTC heating element, controlling the amount of heat generated. It also establishes communication with the vehicle, receiving operational commands and requirements from the vehicle, while simultaneously monitoring and providing real-time feedback on the heater's running status.
PTC Electric Heater Operating Procedure ▶
After receiving the vehicle's operational command and temperature requirements, the EW20 PTC electric heater determines whether heating is needed based on the difference between the desired temperature and the current water temperature, then activates the PTC control system accordingly. Throughout the process, the heater continuously monitors whether the actual water temperature has reached the target level—and once it does, the heater automatically reduces its power output or stops heating altogether.
